Make a simple wireframe online
A rough wireframe helps you think through layout before opening a full design tool. PlainCanvas can be used for quick website sections, app screens, landing page blocks, and simple interface notes.
Start with layout blocks
Use rectangles for the header, main content, sidebar, card areas, and call-to-action section. Keep the first version plain. The goal is to decide what belongs on the page, not to choose final fonts or colors.
Use labels instead of detail
After drawing the main boxes, switch to the Text tool and add short labels such as Header, Hero, Form, Features, or Notes. Labels keep the wireframe readable when you export it as a PNG and send it to someone else.
Useful wireframe shortcuts
- Use the Wireframe template to place starter sections quickly.
- Use one accent color only when you need to show the primary action.
- Keep spacing visible between boxes so the layout does not feel crowded.
- Export the sketch as PNG before rebuilding it in a more detailed design tool.
