When a simple online whiteboard is enough
Many visual tasks do not need collaboration rooms, accounts, templates, or project boards. A simple browser whiteboard is enough when the goal is to draw, explain, export, and move on.
Use a simple whiteboard for fast communication
PlainCanvas is useful for quick meeting sketches, small diagrams, rough layouts, and temporary notes. The tool opens directly into a canvas, so there is less setup between the idea and the drawing.
When to use a larger whiteboard app
Use a full whiteboard app when you need live collaboration, sticky notes, comments, version history, templates, or multiple boards. PlainCanvas is intentionally smaller and more focused.
Export instead of managing projects
After drawing, export a PNG and place it where the rest of your work lives: a slide deck, document, chat thread, issue tracker, or note-taking app.
Practical setup
For a whiteboard-like sketch, choose a white background, keep the brush size readable, and use shapes for structure. If you are annotating another design later, choose a transparent background instead.
